Mexico is now the place to be heading off to, all thanks to Swine Flu!
July 21st, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedA holiday to Mexico this summer could be one of the best holiday choices you can make. Afraid that it wont be able to climb up the Tourism ladder again, Mexico has taken some drastic action. With all the bad press Mexico has received about Swine Flu, all of the holiday resorts and travel deals have cut their prices by around fifty percent!!
Because of the situation that Mexico has fallen into, they have had to make some drastic changes to all of their holiday offers. Tourism generates a large amount of money for Mexico, so getting this back on track is a very key event for them. Caribbean holidays have also been affected by this and have lost revenue because of the epidemic across the sea.
You can even find some hotels that will offer you a 1 hundred dollar deposit at the hotel for you to spend on hotel services. As far as holidays are concerned, this is definitely the place to be. Holiday offers are so low for the Caribbean and Mexico because of the bad press, now would be the best time to grab these offers.
So is there actually any risk of you catching it? Will you catch it? As Swine Flu cases are dropping, the press are not going to be advertising it quite as much. According to the Sunday Times in an article that they posted, some hoteliers will be offering free holidays for 3 years to anybody that catches swine flu within 2 weeks of going to the resort.
So go ahead and try some Mexico holidays or try something more Caribbean like Grenada holidays or Tobago holidays, prices for all of these places have dropped dramatically, your sure to find something you like. Catching Swine Flu won’t be anymore likely in any other country than ones where it has already established itself.

Australian Immigration Guide : Getting An Australian Visa
July 21st, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedGetting an Australian visa is the topic of this part of our emigrating to Australia guide…
To enter Australia you need to have a visa issued by the Australian government. This applies regardless of what you plan to do in Australia or how long you plan to stay there and anyone who doesn’t have one will find themselves being refused entry on arrival at the airport or port (it must be applied for in advance of your arrival as applications are arrival are not permitted).
You can find details of the various types of visas offered by visiting www.immi.gov.au, where you can also download an immigration application form. Be sure to read through all of the information and advice provided on the website to ensure that you’re both applying for the right type of visa and are eligible for it.
An immigration application form must be completed by all applicants wishing to emigrate to Australia and it must be sent to an office of the Department of Immigration and Culture (DIAC) with all relevant documentation and the fee.
It’s absolutely crucial that any paperwork submitted is done so correctly or your application will be returned to you, and you will, unfortunately, have to re apply. You can use a migration agent to help you with this if you have any concerns about your ability to do it yourself.
Fees for visas vary dramatically depending upon the visa category you are applying under. With police checks, medical records, government fees etc, the cost of the application can, sometimes, be a considerable expense. The time taken to process your application also varies, though you should allow a minimum of 12 months.
The DIAC will inform you of their decision by letter, which will also include details of how to get your passport updated (if your application was successful) or how do apply for a review of their decision (if your application was unsuccessful).

Should we try to find out more about the Caribbean when we are on our holidays?
July 21st, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedBeing famous for its inhabitants and it’s weather is what the Caribbean is known for world-wide. The Caribbean is a place for people to just get away and relax, but its more than just sun and stardom? Because the Caribbean has received so much hype about the sun and the celebrities, I thought it would be nice to show you some other facts about the Caribbean. It will help you to have a more fun time while you are on holiday if you already know things about the island, this will give you more scope to explore the region.
Mentioned above was the term collection of islands. More than 7000 islands and reefs make up the region called the Caribbean. Currently living in the Caribbean is around 30 million people, from all over the world. Thinking about how much Europe affected these islands, before the Europeans arrived, it was though that only 700,000 people lived on these islands.
So that’s the general gist of the base facts now for something a little better known. In 1492 Columbus arrived in the Caribbean where he named it the West Indies. Christopher Columbus believed he had reached the Indies in Asia and that’s how the Caribbean received this name. So you could head to areas in the Bahamas on luxury holidays and find out some interesting information on Columbus route.
The Caribbean is also one of the most Bio Diverse regions in the world. In an effort to try and save the remaining wildlife in and around these islands the area has been classed as a Conservation International Hot-Spot. Because of the arrival of the Europeans in the late 15th century, many of the species were either wiped out or forced close to extinction. It even used to have some animals that were only found in the Caribbean, like the Giant owl. Now it hold many threatened species including ranging from birds to mammals.
So visit the Caribbean on Caribbean holidays and learn about new cultures and environments. This location is a hot-spot for tourists coming from all over the world. Tobago holidays have been a massively growing tourist attraction.

Looking For Work In Australia : Important Considerations
July 21st, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedThis part of our emigrating to Australia guide looks at finding work in Australia…
How easy it’ll be to get a job in Australia depends primarily on your qualifications, work experience and flexibility, with your nationality (i.e. not being an Australian citizen) not being a barrier to your success.
Different parts of Australia offer better job prospects in certain industries than other, so you’ll need to research where your particular qualifications and experience are in demand. Broadly speaking, Sydney is best for finance, Melbourne and Adelaide for manufacturing, and Perth for resources. The big cities tend to have very competitive employment markets though, and you may find that you initially have to take work in one of the provinces.
How much value Australian employers place on your qualifications, certificates and references varies from one to another, but you should expect them to not regard them as highly as an employer in your home country would as they’ll probably be unfamiliar with the institutes that issued them. Ones acquired from Australian institutes are generally given preference so be prepared to convert or top-up what you already have if you’re planning on a long-term career in an industry in which they’re particularly valued.
As for work experience, the same applies as with qualifications. The fact that you may have worked for the best company in your field in your home country may not make much impression on an Australian employer who has never heard of it. You can promote your case by including information on your former employer with any job application (a link to its website may be useful) but in many cases this wont be of great benefit. You must be prepared to initially take a less skilled (and less well paid) job than you are qualified for, to get some local experience while you look for something better.
